Outer dimensions $=$
$l^{'} = 5.5 + 2 (2.25) = 10$
$b^{'} = 4 + 2 (2.25) = 8.5$
Area of varanda
$= l^{'} b^{'} - l b$
$= (10) (8.5) - (5.5) (4)$
$= 85 - 22$
$= 63 m^{2}$ .
