A wheel rotating at a speed of 600 rpm (revolution per minute) about its axis is brought to rest by applying a constant torque for 10 seconds. Find the angular deceleration and the angular velocity 5 seconds after the application of the toque.

Given:
The speed of rotation of the wheel is 600 rpm
The wheel is brought to rest in 10 s

We know that,
600rpm=60060=10 rev per sec

ω after 10 sec will be 0.

So, using the expression:
ω=ω0+αt

Andα=ω0t=1010=1 rev/s2

So, ω=101×5=105=5rev/sec
