Question

According to the degradation of energy in all machines,
the efficiency of all machines is less than 1 or less than 100%.
But according to the principle of hydrolics, small amount of force applied on a smaller piston results in large force on a bigger piston. So, here the efficiency is greater than 1 or more than 100%,
So how is this possible as it is just a machine?

It is not the force that matters it is the area that matters.

It is easy to lower the piston with less area but the force given to the small piston is given to the larger one but its effects are different due to the difference in area.

This is a method just to avoid more hard work that is to be given if we apply the force to the larger piston directly.

Here the factor which is distributed equally from small piston to large piston is the force and not the energy.

The applied force is given to the large piston without any change in its amount does not mean that there is no loss of energy. It just means that the same amount of force is available for the large piston to rise.

Maximum efficiency available for practical hydraulic machine is 92 %. Remember the word that this efficiency is maximum and usually this is below that amount.

So there is energy loss in case of hydraulic machine .

Not just in case of hydraulic machine but in case of all practical machines , there is energy loss. Thus there exist no such machine with 100 % efficiency.

Such machine with 100 % efficiency is considered to be an ideal machine until now. Because since now no such machines is invented and such machine is an imagination.

This less efficiency is due to the tear and wear due to friction, loss of energy as heat,light, etc.

If we will be able to develop something to control these factors, to avoid loss or wear and tear due to these problems may be we can make such an ideal machine practical
