The onset of Action potential in a polarised Neuron triggers Repolarisation.

The onset of action potential is marked by the opening of voltage gated Na+ channels. The depolarisation that occurs due to this, causes the neuron membrane to attain a voltage that triggers the opening of voltage gated K+ channels. Then K+ ions rush out through this channels, reducing the positive charge inside the neuron and causing Repolarisation of the neuronal membrane.
