(1) Horizontal arrangement:
(9p + 7q) + (2p + 5q)
Combining the like terms and adding them, we get:
9p + 2p + 7q + 5q = 11p + 12q

(2) Horizontal arrangement:
(6m2 + 7n2) + (11n2 + 4m2)
Combining the like terms and adding them, we get:
6m2 + 4m2 + 7n2 + 11n2 = 10m2 + 18n2

(3) Horizontal arrangement:
(3a2 − 2b2 ) + (5b2 − a2 )
Combining the like terms and adding them, we get:
3a2 − a2 − 2b2 + 5b2 = 2a2 + 3b2

(4) Horizontal arrangement:
(3b + 4c – d) + (2d – c + 7b)
Combining the like terms and adding them, we get:
3b + 7b + 4c − c − d + 2d = 10b + 3c + d

(5) Horizontal arrangement:
(x + y + 2z) + (2y + z + x)
Combining the like terms and adding them, we get:
x + x + y + 2y + 2z + z = 2x + 3y + 3z

(6) Horizontal arrangement:
(2p + 3q + 4c) + (4q − 5p)
Combining the like terms and adding them, we get:
2p − 5p + 3q + 4q + 4c = −3p + 7q + 4c
