An object suspended from a spring balance weighs $10 N$ when completely submerged in water. If the reading of spring balance is $15 N$ when it is in air, find the upthrust and the weight of displaced water.

We know that ,
Upthrust = weight of object in air - weight of object in water
= $15 N - 10 N$
= $5 N$

Also, the weight of liquid displaced = apparent loss in weight of the object that's immersed in water = $5 N$
