Solution

The correct option is A i. 2, ii. 4, iii. left, iv. right
On a number line, if we are moving towards right then its considered as positive and moving towards left is considered as negative.

i. Moving 4 numbers to the right of -2 means -2 + 4 = 2

ii. Moving 5 numbers to the left of 1 means 1 - 5 = -4

iii. If we are at -8 on the number line and we have to reach -13 then this means
-8 + x = -13 where x is the distance to be moved either in left or right direction.
x = -13 + 8
= -5
We have to move 5 numbers towards left (since -5 has a negative sign) to reach -13.

vi. If we are at -6 on the number line and we have to reach -1 then this means
-6 + x = -1 where x is the distance to be moved either in left or right direction.
x = -1 + 6
= 5.
We have to move 5 numbers towards right (since 5 has a positive sign) to reach -1.
