The above figures can be thought of as a number line, where the distance between 0 and 1 is divided into "d" equal parts where "d" is the denominator of the fraction.

As we go from left to right on the number line the value increases.

$\frac{2}{3}$ is to the right of $\frac{2}{4}$.

$\therefore$ $\frac{2}{3}\begin{array}{c}>\end{array}\frac{2}{4}$
