Solution

The correct option is A 0.4 M,56 M
(i) MR×VR=M1×V1
Where MR is the molarity and VR is the volume of the resultant solution and M1 and V1 is the molarity and volume of the HCl solution, respectively.
Molarity of the resultant solution, MR=M1×V1VR=1×200500=0.4 M
(Where VR is the volume of the resultant solution = (200 + 300) = 500 mL)
(ii). M1V1+M2V2=MRVR
Volume of the resultant solution, VR=V1+V2
Molarity of the resultant solution, MR=M1V1+M2V2VR=(1×200)+(0.5×100)300=56 M
