  1. The term antibiotic means “against bacteria”.
  2. So antibiotics only work against bacteria and kill only bacteria.
  3. These antibiotics are mainly obtained from the Streptomyces genus.
  4. Antibiotics don't kill viruses. Antiviral drugs can be used to target viruses.
  5. Examples- Zanamivir, oseltamivir, peramivir, etc.
