The basic nutrients in our food are carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals.All of these are macronutrients and are required in large amount for good health. Of these, proteins are required for proper growth and maintenance of body; the energy required for the overall functioning of the body is obtained from carbohydrates and fats.
