The zygote or early embryos (with upto 8 blastomeres) produced in vitro are transferred into the fallopian tube. This process is called Zygote Intra Fallopian Transfer or ZIFT.

Embryos with more than 8 blastomeres are transferred into the uterus by the process called Intra Uterine Transfer or IUT.

In GIFT (Gamete Intra Fallopian Transfer), ovum is collected from donor and transferred into fallopian tube of other female who cannot produce eggs.

Ova is never transferred into the uterus.
