Solution

The correct option is D

Steps of construction:

1. Draw line segment AB = 6 cm.

2. Construct a right angle at A and extend the ray to a point X.

3. With A as the centre and radius 3 cm, draw an arc cutting the ray AX at the point Y.

4. Draw line PQ perpendicular to the ray AX through the point Y, such that PQ || AB.

5. With A as the centre and radius equal to 5cm, draw an arc to cut line PQ at point C.

6. With C as the centre and radius equal to 6 cm, draw an arc to cut line PQ at point D.

7. Join points A, C, points B, C and points A, D.

ABCD is the required parallelogram.
