Construct an isosceles triangle ABC with BC= 6.2cm and altitude= 4.4cm.

Steps of construction:
1 Draw a line segment BC =6.2 cm.
2. Draw a perpendicular bisector XY of BC which intersects it at point D.
3. With D as centre and radius 4.4 cm, draw an arc to cut the ray DX at point A.
4. Join AB and AC.
Hence, ABC is the required triangle.
