1. Antibiotics are antimicrobial medicines obtained from other organisms such as moulds, fungus, and some soil bacteria to combat harmful microorganisms.
2. Many bacteria make a cell wall to protect themselves.
3. The antibiotics block the biochemical processes that build the cell wall.
4. Hence, the growing bacteria become unable to make cell walls and die easily.
5. Examples:- Penicillin, Streptomycin.
