Question

Define molar conductance of a solution. State its unit. How is it related to the specific conductance of a solution?

Open in App
Solution

Molar conductance : It is the conductance of all ions furnished by one mole of an electrolyte present in a definite volume of the solution.
Its unit is ohm1cm2mol1. Molar conductance Λm is related to specific conductance k by the following equation
Λm=k×1000M, where
k is Λsp and M is molar concentration of the solution.
