The process of beating out the grains from the harvested crop plants is called threshing.
Threshing is the process of loosening the edible part of the grain (or other crop) from the straw to which it is attached.
It is the step in grain preparation after reaping. Threshing does not remove the chaff from the grain.
The grains or seeds are separated from the chaff. This process is carried out after the crop is harvested.
A machine called combine is available to make threshing easier. The machine is called combine as it is helpful in two main processes of farming that is harvesting and threshing. This can be used for harvesting as well as threshing.
