In a normally healthy person, blood pressure values are 120 mm Hg (systolic) and 80 mm Hg (diastolic). When the blood pressure is persistently more than 140 mm Hg systolic pressure and 90 mm Hg diastolic pressure, then it is said to be hypertension or high blood pressure.
Angina pectoris: It is the condition in which there is the pain in the chest which results from a reduction in blood supply to cardiac muscle due to narrowed and hardened coronary arteries. Atherosclerosis and arteriosclerosis can cause this problem. It causes heaviness and severe pain in the chest. Pain can also be felt in the neck, lowerjaw, left arm and left shoulder. It often occurs during excretion when the heart demands more O2 and narrowed blood vessel cannot supply. It disappears with rest.
