Solution:
On 15th August 1947, the Nawab of Junagadh wrote an instrument of accession to join Pakistan. Pakistan gave its consent.
People of Junagadh who were living in Mumbai established ‘Aarzi Hakumat' in Mumbai.
Mangrol and Manavadar declared their wish to join the Union of India. Indian soldiers and navy who were stationed to protect Manavadar and Mangrol besieged the Junagadh state. The Nawab of Junagadh fled to Pakistan.
On 9th November 1947, referendum of the people of Junagadh was obtained. Thus, Junagadh’s merger with the Union of India was made possible due to Sardar Patel’s efforts and will of people of Junagadh.
