Wildlife sanctuaries and national parks are reserved forest areas which are meant to protect plant and animal species which are on the border of extinction. All human activities in those areas like cutting the trees and animal hunting is banned by the regional government which take care of those reserves in a particular area. There are more than 400 wildlife sanctuaries and about 100 national parks in India. For example, Bandipur in Karnataka is a protected forest for tigers and Dachigam in Jammu and Kashmir is a reserved forest for the Kashmir stag.
