  1. Loudness of a sound is defined as the measure of the intensity of a wave.
  2. Intensity refers to the energy carried by the wave (by the sound).
  3. Loudness is directly proportional to the square of the amplitude of a sound wave-
  4. LαA2; where L is the Loudness and A is the amplitude.
  5. Larger the amplitude, the larger is the Loudness.
  6. Unit of Loudness is decibel.
  7. Sound received or delivered above 80 decibels becomes noise for a human ear.
