Do you agree that “A cell is a building unit of an organism”. If yes, explain why?
Yes, A cell can be called a building unit of an organism:
- as it can either independently give an organism its form, and perform all basic life processes like respiration, excretion, growth, reproduction, and can respond to the environment as in the case of unicellular organisms
- or a few cells can group to build tissues that make up an organ in an organism, like that found in the multicellular organisms.
and this is also why a cell is defined as the smallest and most basic structural and functional unit of an organism
