Question

Draw triangles according to the following measures.

(1) In ∆PQR, l (PQ) = 4.9 cm, l (QR) = 5.3 cm, m∠Q = 50°
(2) In ∆LMN, l (LM) = 4 cm, l (MN) = 5 cm, m∠M = 70°
(3) In ∆DEF, l (DE) = l (DF) = 6 cm, m∠D = 40°
(4) In ∆BCD, m∠B = 110°, l (BC) = l (BD) = 6.2 cm

Solution

(1) Steps of construction of the given triangle are as follows:
(i) Draw a line segment QR = 5.3 cm.
(ii) Placing the protractor at vertex Q on segment QR, draw ∠XQR = 50°.
(iii) Taking Q as centre draw an arc of radius 4.9 cm which cut the ray QX at P.
(iv) Join P and R.
Hence, we get the required ∆PQR.

(2) Steps of construction of the given triangle are as follows:
(i) Draw a line segment MN = 5 cm.
(ii) Placing the protractor at vertex M on segment MN, draw ∠XMN = 70°.
(iii) Taking M as centre draw an arc of radius 4 cm which cut the ray MX at L.
(iv) Join L and N.
Hence, we get the required ∆LMN.

(3) Steps of construction of the given triangle are as follows:
(i) Draw a line segment DE = 6 cm.
(ii) Placing the protractor at vertex D on segment DE, draw ∠XDE =40°.
(iii) Taking D as centre draw an arc of radius 6 cm which cut the ray DX at F.
(iv) Join F and E.
Hence, we get the required ∆DEF.

(4) Steps of construction of the given triangle are as follows:
(i) Draw a line segment BC = 6.2 cm.
(ii) Placing the protractor at vertex B on segment BC, draw ∠XBC =110°
(iii) Taking B as centre draw an arc of radius 6.2 cm which cut the ray BX at D.
(iv) Join D and C.
Hence, we get the required ∆BCD.
