Solution

We can smell hydrogen sulphide gas from a considerable distance by the process of diffusion. Diffusion refers to the process by which molecules intermingle as a result of their kinetic energy of random motion. Diffusion in gases is very fast due to particles in gases move very quickly in all directions. light gases diffuse very faster than heavy gases.
