Clinical thermometers:

  1. Clinical thermometers are meant for clinical purposes.
  2. It is developed for measuring the human body temperature.
  3. It is a long narrow glass tube with a bulb containing mercury at the end.
  4. The normal human body temperature is 37˚C which can fluctuate between the ranges of 35˚C to 42˚C.
  5. Hence, the clinical thermometers have a range of 35˚C to 42˚C.
  6. The level of mercury tells our body temperature in ˚C.
  7. Since mercury is a toxic element, thus these thermometers have been replaced by digital thermometers nowadays.
