Explain how fertilizer different from manure?
Manures
Manure is an organic material created by the breakdown of kitchen waste, vermicompost, and human waste, as well as the decomposition of biodegradable materials.
Fertilizers
Inorganic materials produced in industries that are composed of specific nutrients for the crop are known as fertilizers.
S.No. | Manures | Fertilizers |
---|---|---|
1. | Manures solely address general soil deficiencies; they are significantly less rich in plant nutrients. | Plant nutrients including nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium are particularly abundant in fertilizers. |
2. | By adding organic materials and nutrients, they enrich the soil by adding humus. | By delivering nutrients, they support the proper growth and development of plants, but they don't enrich the soil with humus. |
3. | There are no particular rules that must be followed while adding manure to the soil. | To prevent mineral toxicity, certain rules including dosage timing and post-addition measures must be followed while adding fertilizer to the soil. |
4. | Because manure is not easily soluble in water, plants need a while to absorb it. | Because fertilizers are easily soluble in water, plants quickly absorb them. |
5. | It helps recycle farm waste and preserves the environment. | Its excessive usage depletes soil's organic matter and pollutes water supplies. |
