Loudness depends upon the following factors:-

1. Amplitude:

1. The loudness of sound is directly proportional to the square of the amplitude of vibration.
2. As the amplitude of sound increases loudness will also increase.

2. Distance between the listener and the source:

1. As the distance between the listener and the source increases the loudness of sound decreases.

3. Area of vibrating body:

1. The larger the area of the vibrating body louder the sound is produced.
