The jacobin club Under the leadership of Maximilian Robespierre Comprises of people like small shopkeepers,artisans,watch makers ,servants and daily wage workers.The member of Jacobin Club belonged mainly to the less prosperous section of society.

Jacobin rule
  • Jacobins club planned an insurrection of a large number of Parisians who were Angered by the short supplies and high prices of food.
  • On the morning of 10th August they stormed the palace of the Tuileries and massacred the king's guard and kept the king as hostage for few hours.
  • Assembly voted to imprison the royal family .then the elections were held due to efforts of Jacobins club all men of 21 Year and above got the right to vote.
  • After getting in power Robespierre followed a policy of severe control and punishment.All those Who did not agree with his methods were arrested and if the court find them guilty they were guillotined.
  • Robespierre's government issued laws placing a maximum ceilings on wages and prices.
  • The peasants were forced to Transport their grains to cities and sold them at price fixed by the Government.
  • Churches was shut down and buildings were converted into offices.

Due to harsh rule of Jacobins His supporters also turned against him and began to demand moderation.He was convicted By a court In July 1794.he was arrested and next day sent to guillotine.
