Factorize each of the following algebraic expressions.

4 (x + y) (3a - b) + 6 (x + y) (2b - 3a)

Open in App
Solution

4 (x + y) (3a - b) + 6 (x + y) (2b - 3a)

= 4 (x + y) (3a - b) - 6 (x + y) (3a - 2b)

HCF of 4, 6 = 2

= 2 (x + y) {2 (3a - b) - 3 (3a - 2b)}

= 2 (x + y) {6a - 2b - 9a + 6b}

= 2 (x + y) {-3a + 4b }

= 2 (x + y) (4b - 3a)
