Find the area of the sector of a circle with radius $4cm$ and of angle ${60}^{\circ }$. Also find the area of the corresponding major sector.

Given ,$r=4cm$
Area of sector
$\frac{{\theta }^{\circ }}{{360}^{\circ }}\times \pi r^2$
= $\frac{{60}^{\circ }}{{360}^{\circ }}$ x $3.14$ x $4^2$
= $\frac{1}{6}$ x$3.14$ x $16$
= $\frac{50.24}{6}$
= $8.373$ sq.cm
Area of major sector
=$\frac{3}{4}\times \pi r^2$
=$\frac{3}{4}$ x $3.14$ x $16$
= $3$ x$3.14$x $4$
= $37.68$ sq. cm
