Open in App
Solution

Consider that the fraction is xy.

According to the question,

x+2y=23

3(x+2)=2y

3x2y=6 .............. (1)

And,

xy+4=47

7x=4(y+4)

7x4y=16 ............. (2)

From equation (1) and (2),
2×(1)(2)

6x4y=12

7x4y=16

..............

x=28

x=28

On substituting x=28 in (1), we get
3(28)2y=6

2y=90

y=45

Therefore, the fraction becomes 2845.
