Open in App
Solution

Given:

In rectangle, Length (l)=40 cm,

Diagonal (d)=41 cm

Breadth b= ?

We know that, in a rectangle,

The square of diagonal is equal to sum of the squares of its length and its breadth.

d2=l2+b2

(41 cm)2=(40 cm)2+b2

1681 cm21600 cm2=b2

81 cm2=b2

81 cm2=b

9 cm=b

Now, Perimeter of the rectangle =2(l+b)

=2(40 cm+9 cm)

=2(49 cm)

=98 cm

Hence, the Perimeter of the rectangle is 98 cm
