To find the smallest number divisible by both 3 and 8 is

Now, add 5 to 24; 5+ 24 = 29

When 29 is reduced by 5 we get 24 which is divisible both by 3 and 8

$∴$ 24 + 5 = 29

LCM = 3 $\times 2 \times 2 \times$ 2 = 24
