The correct option is A $80^{\circ}$
Angles on one side of a straight line always add to $180^{o}$ .
So,

$⟹ (x - 20)^{o} + x^{o} + 40^{o} = 180^{o}$

$⟹ 2 x^{o} = 180^{o} - 40^{o} + 20^{o} = 160^{o}$

$⟹ x^{o} = 80^{o}$ .
