Hearing process:

  1. The external ear through the pinna receives sound waves from the environment and directs them to the eardrum (tympanic membrane).
  2. The eardrum vibrates in response to sound waves, and the vibrations are sent to the oval window via the malleus, incus, and stapes ossicles.
  3. These vibrations are transmitted through the oval window to the fluid of the cochlea, where they form waves in the lymph.
  4. These waves cause vibrations in the basilar membrane, bending and pressing the hair cells on the tectorial membrane.
  5. Hence, correct order: Pinna⇢ Malleus⇢ Incus⇢ Stapes⇢ Cochlea
