How did dinosaurs died in earth and became extinct?

There are various theories about the extinction of dinosaurs:
1. The first theory suggests that the earth suddenly became very cold. Due to this, large herbivores died of cold and starvation. Since dinosaurs were carnivores and used to feed on carnivores, they also perished when deprived of their prey.
2. The second theory suggests that a large meteorite collided with the earth which led to destruction of all life forms present on earth including dinosaurs.
