Open in App
Solution

Following conditions are not favorable or harsh for bacteria:

  1. Food and water get decreased
  2. Space becomes less.
  3. Accumulation of chemicals such as alcohol and acids.

Adaptations of bacteria to survive in these harsh conditions are:

  1. Endospore formation - Bacteria develop protective layer outside the cell. It is covered by thick spore coat. These help in bearing adverse conditions like high temperature, drought, starvation.
  2. Cyst formation is the covering on bacterial cell in adverse conditions .
