  1. They are organisms that do not have proper cellular organization i.e they lack cellular organelles and a nucleus.
  2. They include the bacteria in this group.
  3. Though these cells do not have a nucleus they do have DNA or RNA in them.
  4. These genetic materials present in the cell helps in the different function of the cell.
  5. They help in replication as well as carry genetic material.

Growth in prokaryotes:

  1. The cell growth or increase in size in prokaryotes is tightly linked to their reproduction by cell division.
  2. Prokaryotes grow to a fixed size and then they reproduce through the process of binary fission.
