  2. R.H. Whittaker classified unicellular eukaryotes in Kingdom Protista and multicellular eukaryotes in Kingdom Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia.
  3. Protists are simple unicellular organisms that are neither plants, animals, nor fungi.
  4. They live in damp terrestrial environments.
  5. Fungi are mostly multicellular organisms with cell walls made of chitin.
  6. They are either heterotrophic or saprophytic
  7. Plants are multicellular autotrophic organisms with cell walls made of cellulose and chloroplasts to perform photosynthesis.
  8. Animals are multicellular heterotrophs without cell walls.
