The correct option is B 2
Let $2 y - x = 8$ ......(1)
and $3 x - y = 1$ ....(2)
Multiply (1) by $3$ , we get
$\Rightarrow - 3 x + 6 y = 24$ .......(3)
Subtract (2) by (3), we get
$\Rightarrow 5 y = 25$
$\Rightarrow y = \frac{25}{5} = 5$
Sustitute the value of $y = 5$ in (2)
$\Rightarrow 3 x - 5 = 1$
$\Rightarrow 3 x = 6$
$\Rightarrow x = \frac{6}{3} = 2$
