To find the $b$ and $h$, we have to count the number of squares along the base and height of the triangle respectively.

For the $h$ we can see $3$ sides of the squares, fits perfectly along the height so the height of this triangle $=3$ cm



Similarly for the base, $6$ squares have their sides along the base, so the triangle has a base os $6$ cm.



Therefore area $=\frac{1}{2}\times 3\times 6$
$=\frac{1}{2}\times 18$
$=\frac{18}{2}$
