Question

In the circuit shown in the figure V1andV2 are two voltmeters of resistance 3000Ω and 2000Ω respectively R1=2000Ω,R2=3000ΩandE=200V. A is an ideal ammeter consider both cases i.e. switch S open or switch S closed to match the readings. The cell is ideal Ammeter (A1)and(A2) are also ideal.

Solution

The correct options are
A Reading of voltmeter V1 in volt may be 120 Volt
B Reading of voltmeter V1 in volt may be 100 Volt
D Reading of ammeter A1 may be 50 miliampere
When S=closed
RAB=30002000RBC=20003000
Since RAB=RBC
thenVAB=V1=E2=100V
I1= reading of A1=1002000=50mA
When SOpen
V1=R1R1+R2(E)
=30005000×200=120V
