Solution

In the oxidation of N2H4 to N2, equivalent weight of N2H4 would be 8.
The oxidation state of N in hydrazine and nitrogen molecule is -2 and 0 respectively. Hence, the total change in the oxidation number per molecule of hydrazine is 4.

The equivalent mass of hydrazine =Formula mass of hydrazinetotal change in the oxidation number of nitrogen per molecule of hydrazine=324=8
Hence, the equivalent weight of hydrazine will be 8.
