Dear student,
Cow and buffaloes can also be infected with rabies virus if they are not vaccinated. Once they are infected virus reaches the brain and cause inflammation in brain and in salivary gland. Virus reaches saliva before the symptoms are apparent. So if cow and buffaloes is infected with the virus their saliva will also contain the virus.
