1.Both vibratory and oscillatory motion are described as "to and fro motion" of the body about the mean position. But vibratory motion and oscillatory motion are not the same.

2. A type of motion in which a particle vibrates about a fixed point is called vibratory motion. A type of motion in which a particle moves to and fro about a fixed point is called oscillatory motion.
