RATE OF WORK OF JOSEPH = 1/20 WORK/ HR

RATE OF WORK OF PETER = 1/25 WORK/HR

COMBINED RATE OF WORK = 1/20 +1/25 = 9/100 WORK/HR

IF, IN 1 HOUR JOSEPH CAN DO 1/20 WORK,

IN 4 HOUR =4 × 1/20 =1/5

IF, IN 1 HOUR PETER CAN DO 1/25 WORK,

IN 4 HOUR =4 × 1/25 ÷=4/25

∴COMBINED FRATE OF WORK IN 4 HOUR = 1/5 +4/25

= 9/25 WORK / 4HR
