Solution

1) Draw BC = 8cm

2) Draw 90 at B. Extend it till 6cm to mark point A. Join AC.

3) With B as center & arbitrary radius, drawn an arc to cut AC at 2 points mark them as X & Y.

4) With 'X' as center & XY as radius, draw an arc. With Y as center & XY as radius, cut the previous arc. Join that to B.
