Let the length of the Magadh express and Toofan express be L and 2L m respectively. Thus, when the Magadh express train crosses Toofan express, the distance travelled by it will be (L + 2L)m and their relative speed will be (90 – 45) × 5/18 m/s.
45 × (5/18) × 18 = 3L or L = 75m.
Hence, Toofan express will cross the platform in $\frac{(450+150)}{45\times \frac{5}{18}}=48$ seconds.
