Solution

Reflex action :

  1. In reaction to a stimulus, a reflex action is an automatic, unplanned sequence of action and practically instantaneous movement.
  2. Reflexes are made possible by reflex arcs, which are neuronal circuits that can react on an impulse before it reaches the brain.

Reflexes:

1. Autonomic reflex arc:

  1. It is the body's involuntary response to a stimulus.
  2. The reflex arc is a brain circuit that controls or mediates the body's reflex reaction.
  3. The receptors send sensory signals to the spinal motor neurons, which activate the effector cells, causing them to perform a reflex action.

2. Somatic reflex arc:

  1. Nerve impulses move via the following pathway during a somatic reflex: Somatic receptors in the skin, muscles, and tendons.
  2. Afferent nerve fibers transport messages from somatic receptors to the brain stem or the rear horn of the spinal cord.
