Solution

Upper surface of leaf is more green and shinier than the lower surface - Reason:

  1. The chloroplasts are concentrated in the upper layers of the leaf.
  2. It helps the plants cells to trap the sunlight quickly.
  3. Also the epidermis is covered by a waxy, waterproof layer of cuticle which gives it a shinier effect.
  4. This layer is thicker on the upper surface than the lower one.
  5. Thus, most of the leaves have the upper surface more greener and shinier than the lower surface.
